What Saltbox is for

Saltbox is a free Shopify theme for apparel, homeware and lifestyle shops. Built on Online Store 2.0 so every page is editable in the theme editor, it pairs a large image-led collection grid with a slide-out cart, predictive search and a product page that puts the buy button above the fold on a phone. No app subscriptions and no paid tier.

Installing it

Download the zip — saltbox.zip, 171 KB. Do not unzip it.
In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
Add theme → Upload zip file, and choose the file you just downloaded.
Customize to set colours, fonts and content, then Publish when you are happy.

This is an Online Store 2.0 theme, so every page is built from sections you can drag around in the theme editor — no code needed to rearrange a page.

Is this really free?

Yes. MIT licensed, so you can use it on any store, modify it, and use it on client stores. There is no paid version and no app subscription attached to it.

How do I install it?

In Shopify admin go to Online Store → Themes → Add theme → Upload zip file, choose saltbox.zip, then Publish when you are happy with it.

Does it work with Shopify Markets and multi-currency?

Yes. Prices render through Shopify’s money filters, so currency conversion and market-specific pricing work as normal.

Can I edit it without touching code?

Yes. Everything on every page is a section or block in the theme editor — colours, fonts, spacing, layout and content all move without opening a file.
