Write in plain language. If it is about a theme, a tool or an app, name the one you mean and say what happened. A browser and version, or an iPhone and iOS version, saves a round of questions. Screenshots help more than descriptions of screenshots.
A reply usually takes a few days. Sometimes it takes longer — everything here is built by one person, and the inbox loses to whatever is being fixed that week. If a week goes by with no answer, send the message again; things do get buried.
Worth writing about
These are the messages that turn into work.
- A bug in one of the WordPress or Shopify themes — where it breaks, and on what.
- A tool on /free-tools giving the wrong answer, or failing on a particular file. The tools run entirely in your browser, so the file never leaves your device and cannot be inspected here — describe it or send a small sample.
- A licensing question about the GPL themes or the MIT themes.
- A tool you wish existed. The tools are small and run in the browser, so a suggestion that fits that shape is the easiest kind to act on.
- A support question about one of the iOS apps — SmartFolio, VaultFlow, CleanConnect, Brolic, Gathr, or one of the four still in development.
- A correction to a blog post. Every post is a roundup that names competitors, and the entry that belongs to The Big Head is disclosed. If something is out of date or plain wrong, say so.
Licensing and the apps
Two things come up often enough to set out here.
Theme licensing — the WordPress themes are GPL and the Shopify themes are MIT. What that allows, including use on client sites and paid work, is set out on the licence page for the free themes.
App support — SmartFolio, VaultFlow, CleanConnect, Brolic and Gathr are on the App Store. Kalend, Clinch, MMA SOCIAL and Neighbr are still in development and not on the App Store. Questions about any of the nine can go to info@thebighead.ca.

There is no phone number and no live chat. Email is the only channel.
Common questions
How long until I get a reply?
Usually a few days. This is one person, not a support team, so replies come in batches between other work. If a week passes with nothing, send the message again — it may simply have been missed.
Can I use a theme on a paid client site?

Do you take on client projects?
