What Compcard is for

Compcard is a free WordPress theme for fashion, commercial and runway models. It puts everything a casting director or agency opens a model's site to find on one clean, editorial page: the book in a masonry grid filtered by tag, current digitals framed as polaroids, measurements in imperial and metric, who represents you in which market, whether you are available, and a booking form. The comp card is a real page that prints front and back at 5.5 × 8.5 inches, so "Save as PDF" gives you a card an agency can file.

What’s in it

  • A printable comp card — front and back on 5.5 × 8.5 in pages, one click to "Save as PDF"
  • Your book in a masonry grid, filtered by tag (editorial, runway, beauty…) with a full-screen lightbox
  • Digitals framed as polaroids, with the date they were last updated
  • Measurements entered once, shown in imperial, metric or both — on the site, the card and the About page
  • Agencies by market, an availability badge and your travel dates
  • A booking form with spam protection built in — no plugin, requests arrive by email
  • schema.org Person data for your name, city, agencies and profiles; steps aside for Yoast or Rank Math
  • Three hero layouts, four colour presets, six typefaces and eight page templates

Installing it

  1. Download the zipcompcard.zip, 316 KB. Do not unzip it.
  2. In WordPress, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.
  3. Choose the zip and press Install Now, then Activate.
  4. Set it up under Appearance → Customize — colours, menus, layout and the front-page sections all live there.

Installing by FTP instead? Unzip it and upload the compcard folder into wp-content/themes/, then activate it from Appearance → Themes.

Frequently asked

Do I need a plugin for the booking form?

No. The form is part of the theme: it checks for spam with a hidden field, a timing check and a rate limit, then emails the request to you with the client's address as the reply-to. Nothing is stored on the site.

How do I print my comp card?

Create a page, choose the "Comp card (printable)" template, and press "Print or save as PDF". The print layout puts the front and the back on two 5.5 × 8.5 inch pages — the standard comp card size.

Where do my portfolio photos go?

Each shoot is an ordinary post in a "Portfolio" category with a featured image. Its tags — editorial, runway, beauty — become the filter buttons. Using normal posts means your work survives a theme change.

Can I remove the theme credit?

The copyright line is yours to edit in the Customizer. The small "Compcard theme by The Big Head" credit is part of the theme. It is GPL, so you may modify the code, but there is no setting that hides it.

Does it work for male and non-binary models too?

Yes. Every measurement is optional and labelled plainly — bust or chest, suit or dress size — and an empty field is hidden everywhere it would appear.

The same promise on every theme here

Genuinely free, including commercially

WordPress themes are GPL v2+, Shopify themes are MIT. Either way: use it on client sites, change it, rename it, sell the site you built with it. There is no “pro” version being withheld and no licence key.

No account, no email, no upsell

The download button is a download button. We do not ask who you are and there is nothing to unsubscribe from afterwards.

Nothing phones home

No Google Fonts, no analytics, no external requests of any kind. Everything the theme needs is inside the zip, which is also why they are small.

Not a page-builder trap

Every theme works with the block editor and the Customizer alone. None of them require a plugin to look like the demo.
