First: do you need movers at all?

The trick for tight doors is to stand the couch on its end and “hook” it through. Two people can do this; one can’t.

Be specific and fair: “Need a hand carrying a 3-seat couch down one flight of stairs, about 20 minutes, $30.” Clear asks get quick yeses. A free favour works too — plenty of neighbours will help for a coffee and the promise you’ll return it.
Stay safe
Share only a rough area until you’ve picked someone, meet somewhere public first if you’d like, and have someone else home when strangers come in. Lift with your legs and agree who calls “stop”.
