What Sagebrush is for

Sagebrush is a free WordPress restaurant theme for cafes, bistros, bars and food trucks. It includes a proper menu template with sections, prices and dietary tags, an opening-hours widget that knows whether you are open right now, and a reservation button that follows the visitor down the page on mobile.

What’s in it

  • Menu template with sections, prices, descriptions and dietary tags
  • Opening-hours widget that shows “Open now” or the next opening time
  • Sticky reservation button on mobile, linked to any booking service
  • Location block with an address, map link and click-to-call phone number
  • Photo gallery strip for the room and the food
  • LocalBusiness and Restaurant structured data emitted automatically

Installing it

  1. Download the zipsagebrush.zip, 159 KB. Do not unzip it.
  2. In WordPress, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.
  3. Choose the zip and press Install Now, then Activate.
  4. Set it up under Appearance → Customize — colours, menus, layout and the front-page sections all live there.

Installing by FTP instead? Unzip it and upload the sagebrush folder into wp-content/themes/, then activate it from Appearance → Themes.

Frequently asked

How do I build the menu?

Create a page, choose the Menu template, and add sections and items in the editor. Each item takes a name, description, price and optional tags like “vegan” or “gluten free”.

Does the Open now widget handle split hours?

Yes. You can set a lunch and a dinner service for the same day, and the widget picks the right one.

Can I link my own booking system?

Yes. Paste any URL — OpenTable, Resy, Tock, a phone number or your own form page — into the Customizer and the reservation buttons all point at it.

Does it add structured data?

Yes. Sagebrush emits Restaurant and LocalBusiness JSON-LD with your address, hours and price range, which is what Google uses for rich results.

The same promise on every theme here

Genuinely free, including commercially

WordPress themes are GPL v2+, Shopify themes are MIT. Either way: use it on client sites, change it, rename it, sell the site you built with it. There is no “pro” version being withheld and no licence key.

No account, no email, no upsell

The download button is a download button. We do not ask who you are and there is nothing to unsubscribe from afterwards.

Nothing phones home

No Google Fonts, no analytics, no external requests of any kind. Everything the theme needs is inside the zip, which is also why they are small.

Not a page-builder trap

Every theme works with the block editor and the Customizer alone. None of them require a plugin to look like the demo.
