1. Information We Do NOT Collect

SmartFolio is designed with your privacy as a priority. We do NOT collect:

• Your stock transactions or trade history
• Portfolio holdings or positions
• Account balances or performance data
• Personal identification information

2. Local Data Storage

All data you enter into SmartFolio is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework. This includes:

• Stock transactions (buys, sells)
• Dividend records
• Watchlist items
• Portfolio settings

This data never leaves your device.

3. Third-Party Services

SmartFolio uses the following third-party services for market data:

• Finnhub.io: Real-time stock quotes, company information, and news. Only stock ticker symbols are sent (e.g., "AAPL"). No personal information is transmitted.
• Yahoo Finance: Historical price charts (backup). Only stock ticker symbols are sent.

4. Data Security

Your data is protected by:

• iOS device encryption
• App-level data isolation (sandboxing)
• Optional Face ID / Touch ID protection

5. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

• Access: View all your data anytime within the app
• Delete: Delete the app to remove all data, or delete individual entries within the app
• Export: Use the export feature to save your data

6. Face ID / Touch ID

If you enable biometric authentication, SmartFolio uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Biometric data never leaves your device. We only receive a "yes/no" authentication result from iOS.

7. Children's Privacy

SmartFolio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new effective date at the top of this page.
