SmartFolio
SmartFolio is designed with your privacy as a priority. We do NOT collect your stock transactions, portfolio holdings, account balances, or personal identification information. There is no SmartFolio account and no sign-in.
All data you enter is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework. We have no server that stores it. It leaves your device only when you choose to share a backup, export or report file yourself.
SmartFolio uses Yahoo Finance for prices, charts, search, exchange rates and stock-page headlines. Only stock ticker symbols and the search terms you type are sent. No personal information or portfolio amounts are transmitted.
Your own Finnhub key (optional): If you add a free Finnhub API key in Settings, the key is stored on your device. It is sent to Finnhub (finnhub.io), along with ticker symbols and search terms, to fetch market and company news, search results and company details. You can remove the key in Settings at any time.
Convert with AI: If you use Convert with AI to import a PDF statement or screenshot, the conversion happens in your own AI assistant app. SmartFolio gives you a prompt to copy and reads the CSV you paste back. SmartFolio itself sends nothing to any AI service. What you share with your assistant is covered by that service's own privacy policy.
Your data is protected by iOS device encryption, app-level sandboxing, and optional Face ID/Touch ID protection.
You have complete control over your data. Access, delete, or export your data at any time within the app, in Settings → Data Management.
