Gather ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed and operated by thebighead ("developer"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Gather iOS app.

By using Gather, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Name, email address, and authentication credentials when you sign in via Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or email.
• Event Information: Event titles, descriptions, dates, locations, and settings you create or manage.
• Guest Information: Names, email addresses, and phone numbers of guests you add to your events.
• Ticket & Payment Information: Guest names, email addresses, ticket selections, and promo codes used during ticket purchases. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers — we do not store your credit card or payment details.
• RSVP & Response Data: Your responses to event invitations, party size, and any notes you provide.

Information Accessed with Your Permission

• Contacts (optional): If you grant access, we read your device contacts to help you quickly invite guests. We do not upload or store your contacts on any server.
• Calendar (optional): If you grant access, we add events to your device calendar. We do not read or sync your existing calendar data.
• Photo Library (optional): If you grant access, we allow you to add photos to your events. Photos are stored locally on your device.

Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility.
• Usage Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated usage data to help us improve the app experience. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your events, guests, and invitations
• Send invitations via your chosen channel (WhatsApp, SMS, Email)
• Process ticket purchases and manage waitlists
• Track RSVPs and manage guest lists
• Generate QR codes for ticket validation
• Improve the app and fix bugs
• Communicate important updates about the app

Data Storage

Gather uses on-device storage (Apple SwiftData) as the primary data store. Your event data, guest lists, and preferences are stored locally on your device.

When you use cloud features (if available), data is synced through Apple's iCloud infrastructure and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share information only in the following cases:

• At Your Direction: When you send invitations via WhatsApp, SMS, or Email, the relevant guest information is shared through your device's native sharing capabilities.
• Service Providers: We may use third-party services for analytics and crash reporting. These services receive only anonymous, aggregated data.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.

Third-Party Services

Gather may use the following third-party services:

• Apple Sign-In: For authentication
• Google Sign-In: For authentication
• Apple MapKit: For location search and display

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored within the app
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your event data
• Withdraw permissions (contacts, calendar, photos) at any time through your device Settings
• Opt out of analytics collection

Data Retention

• Your data is stored on your device for as long as you use the app.
• If you delete the app, all locally stored data is removed.
• If you request account deletion, we will delete all data associated with your account within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Gather is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

• On-device data storage using Apple's secure frameworks
• Encrypted authentication through Apple and Google sign-in
• No server-side storage of sensitive personal data

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
