Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using CleanConnect you agree to these Terms and to the Community Guidelines below. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What CleanConnect is

CleanConnect is a free community app for reporting garbage spots in India, cleaning them up, organising and joining cleanup drives, and recognising people who help. It is not a government service and is not affiliated with any government programme or municipal body.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account; users under 18 should have a parent’s or guardian’s permission. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

4. Community Guidelines

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. When you post, you agree that:

• Reports and cleanups are genuine. No fake, staged, copied or misleading photos, and no reporting spots you know are not dirty.
• You won’t post hate speech, harassment, threats, sexual content, violence, or content that targets a caste, religion, community, gender or individual.
• You won’t shame or identify people. Avoid faces, number plates, house numbers and other private details in photos.
• No spam, advertising, political campaigning or unrelated fundraising.
• Comments stay respectful and on topic.
• You only share a UPI ID or support link that belongs to you.

Anyone can report content or block a user from the ⋯ menu. Content reported by several people is hidden automatically. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content and accounts that break these guidelines, without notice.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and share it inside the app and in CleanConnect’s promotion of cleanups (for example, featuring a before/after). You confirm you have the right to post it.

6. Support between users (UPI)

Users may show a UPI ID or support link so others can thank them or chip in for supplies. Any payment happens directly between users in their own payment apps. It is completely optional, 100% goes to the recipient, and CleanConnect does not process, hold, guarantee or take any share of the money, and is not responsible for disputes, refunds or how funds are used. Only send money to people you trust. Paying does not unlock anything in the app.

7. Safety at cleanups and drives

Cleanups and drives are organised by users, not by CleanConnect. Take part at your own risk. Wear gloves and closed shoes, go with others, keep away from traffic and water hazards, supervise children, and never handle needles, broken glass, chemicals or medical waste with bare hands. Organisers are responsible for any permissions needed and for briefing volunteers. Follow local laws and instructions from authorities.

8. Points, levels and leaderboards

Swachh Points, levels, badges and rankings are for recognition only. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or transferred. We may adjust points to correct errors or abuse.

9. Complaints to authorities

The app can draft a complaint for you to send to a municipal body. You decide whether and where to send it, and you are responsible for its content.

10. Disclaimer and liability

CleanConnect is provided “as is”. We don’t guarantee that spots shown are accurate or that a spot will be cleaned. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for user content, injuries or losses at cleanups or drives, or payments between users.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. If the changes are significant we will update the date above and let you know in the app.
