Clinch for iOS · Last updated 6 August 2026

The short version: Clinch has no server of its own. We do not receive, store or process your data. Your deals, contacts, companies and activity stay on your device, and sync — only if you switch it on — between your own Apple devices through your personal iCloud account.

Who we are

Clinch is made by The Big Head, a software studio based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. You can reach us at info@thebighead.ca.

What Clinch stores, and where

Clinch stores the deals, contacts, companies, activities, notes, products and targets you create. This data is written to a database on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync in Settings, Apple's CloudKit service replicates that database to your other devices using your own private iCloud storage.

Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Sign in with Apple

Signing in is optional and Clinch works fully without it. If you choose to sign in, Apple gives the app a user identifier and — only on your first authorisation, and only if you allow it — your name and an email address. These are stored on your device so the app can show your name. They are not transmitted to us and are not used for anything else.

Your contacts

Clinch can copy a person in from your address book. It does this through the system contact picker, which means iOS hands the app only the single contact you tapped.

Your calendar

If you enable calendar writing in Settings, Clinch can add meetings you schedule to your own calendar. This requires your permission, which iOS asks for at the moment you first use it.

Notifications

Activity reminders and the weekly pipeline check are scheduled locally by iOS on your device. They are not sent through any push service operated by us, and their contents never leave your phone. Clinch asks for notification permission at the moment you first schedule something, not on first launch.

Exports

When you export to CSV, the file is written to a temporary location on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next — Files, Mail, another app — is entirely your choice. We never see it.

What we do not do

Children

Clinch is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children — or, indeed, from anyone.

Your rights

Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete on your behalf. You hold all of it directly:

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, note it in the app's release notes. Since Clinch has no server, no change to this policy can retroactively give us access to data we never held.
