Who we are

Clinch is made by The Big Head, a software studio based in Canada. You can reach us at info@thebighead.ca.

What Clinch stores, and where

Clinch stores the leads, customers, sales, reminders, notes, items, ready-made messages and targets you create, plus your business name and logo if you add them. This data is written to a database on your device. If you turn on Settings → My data → Back up to my iCloud, Apple's CloudKit service copies that database to your other devices using your own private iCloud storage.

• The data is held in your private iCloud database, not ours. We have no access to it and no ability to read it.
• We operate no servers, no databases and no backend of any kind for Clinch.
• iCloud backup is off by default. With it off, Clinch works entirely locally on that device.
• There is no account and no sign-in. Clinch never asks for your email address.

Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Your contacts

Clinch can copy customers in from your address book. It does this through the system contact picker, which means iOS hands the app only the contacts you pick.

• Clinch never requests permission to read your whole address book, because it does not need it.
• The details you import are copied into Clinch's own storage on your device. Clinch never writes back to your address book.
• Nothing is uploaded, and no contact information is transmitted anywhere.

Notifications

Call reminders and the Monday summary are scheduled locally by iOS on your device. So are birthday, delivery-date, check-in and try-again reminders. They are not sent through any push service operated by us, and their contents never leave your phone. Clinch asks for notification permission the first time you set a reminder, not on first launch. Turn each kind on or off in Settings → Reminders.

Messages, quotes and exports

When you send a ready-made message, Clinch opens WhatsApp, Messages or Mail with the words filled in, and you send it yourself. Nothing is sent automatically. When you share a quote, a PDF or a CSV export, the file is written on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next — Files, Mail, another app — is entirely your choice. We never see it.

What we do not do

• We do not collect analytics or usage statistics.
• We do not use advertising identifiers, and Clinch contains no advertising.
• We do not include any third-party SDK, tracker or analytics library. Clinch is built entirely on Apple frameworks.
• We do not sell, rent or share personal information, because we do not receive any.
• We do not create a profile of you or track you across apps or websites.
• We do not use your data to train any model, and Clinch contains no AI features of any kind.

Children

Clinch is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children — or, indeed, from anyone.

Your rights

Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete on your behalf. You hold all of it directly:

• Export — Settings → My data → Import, export and sample data writes standard CSV for your leads and sales, customers, companies and reminders, and shares your leads, customers or sales as PDFs.
• Delete — Settings → My data → Import, export and sample data → Delete everything removes every lead, sale, customer, reminder and note from the device, cancels every pending reminder, and removes them from your other devices if backup is on.
• Remove entirely — deleting the app removes its local database. If you used iCloud backup, you can remove the remaining data in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, note it in the app's release notes. Since Clinch has no server, no change to this policy can retroactively give us access to data we never held.
